            <title>Video: Sperm whale rescue callout near Beadnell</title>
            <description><![CDATA[<p>Click play on the video player to watch Richard Ilderton of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) speaking about the team's callout to a sperm whale found on the beach at Collith Hole near Beadnell. The animal was initially thought to be still alive but was confirmed as dead when the BDMLR arrived.</p>]]></description>

            <title>Video: Tracing Northumberland family history</title>
            <description><![CDATA[<p>Family history buffs in Northumberland are turning to the web.</p>

<p>Northumberland County Council produced a video (below) to raise awareness of the facilities available to people wanting to know more about their ancestors.</p>

<p>It was uploaded onto internet video sharing site YouTube and has got more than 12,000 hits.</p>]]></description>

            <title>Video: Recycling in Northumberland</title>
            <description><![CDATA[<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Waste for recycling" src="http://berwick.journallive.co.uk/councils/wastegeneric.jpg" width="200" height="182" class="mt-image-right" style="float: right; margin: 0 0 20px 20px;" /></span>A video has been launched by Northumberland County Council to help it meet demanding Government recycling targets.</p>

<p>The tutorial video (watch below) shows Northumberland County Council's new recycling centre in action and helps residents understand what can and can't be put into the recycling bin.</p>

<p>In Northumberland the council is responsible for collecting waste from more than 140,000 households as well as thousands of business premises. </p>]]></description>

<p>It is 1954, and this is one of several harbour pictures featured in this week's nostalgia section as we focus on Seahouses's history.</p>

<p>Another picture, from the year before, gives an indication of how important the fishing industry was to the village as it shows a harbour packed with boats, as the fishermen busily work to prepare everything onboard for their next trip.</p>]]></description>

            <title>Bamburgh nostalgia gallery</title>
            <description><![CDATA[<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Bamburgh- Percy Hunt" src="http://seahouses.journallive.co.uk/vids&amp;pics/bamburghnostalgiateaser.jpg" width="200" height="193" class="mt-image-right" style="float: right; margin: 0 0 20px 20px;" /></span>Bamburgh is as rich in heritage as anywhere in the county, but these photos from The Journal's archives chart the village's more recent history.</p>

<p>There are views of the Percy Hunt setting off around the castle in 1950 and cricketers playing in its shadow - surely one of the most picturesque grounds in the country - in 1974.</p>

<p>In 1970 villagers gathered to see Bamburgh named The Journal's best kept village, but 12 years later they were fighting to keep open their first school - a battle that was ultimately lost.</p>

<p>There are also scenes from the filming of the 1971 costume drama Mary Queen of Scots, starring Vanessa Redgrave.</p>]]></description>
