The animal was initially thought to be still alive but was confirmed as dead when the BDMLR arrived.

Northumberland County Council produced a video (below) to raise awareness of the facilities available to people wanting to know more about their ancestors.

It was uploaded onto internet video sharing site YouTube and has got more than 12,000 hits.

Waste for recyclingA video has been launched by Northumberland County Council to help it meet demanding Government recycling targets.

The tutorial video (watch below) shows Northumberland County Council's new recycling centre in action and helps residents understand what can and can't be put into the recycling bin.

In Northumberland the council is responsible for collecting waste from more than 140,000 households as well as thousands of business premises.

Prototype figurines for sculptures of Jackie Milburn and Alan Shearer intended to appear outside St James' Park have now surfaced at the newly opened Milburn's Sports Bar at the Victoria Hotel, Bamburgh, which has various Jackie Milburn memorabilia on display.
